Hello, greetings to everyone!
A year ago, we were all surprised by the arrival of CS2. Unfortunately, this also meant the end of server development, as there weren't easy options for modding CS2 servers. However, after a long year of waiting, we decided it was time to get things going again. We chose to start with our favorite and most refined server – and that, of course, is our JailBreak server.
We began working on the server at the beginning of July. We’ve been striving to transfer all the mechanics and features that the mode had in CSGO. And we’ve managed to do so, with a few exceptions. It's not that it wasn't possible, but we didn't want to delay the server launch unnecessarily. For example, animations won’t be available at the start because transferring all 200 animations from CSGO to CS2 will take some time. The Ghost mode won’t be on the server either, but there’s a reason for that – in CS2, there’s no void around the map, so the area around the playable space is visible and usable. This offers plenty of possibilities and space for entertaining dead players waiting for the next round. At launch, there also won’t be many game modes available to avoid delaying the release, but they will be gradually added in regular updates.
I’d like to mention one small detail – players were used to the fact that until a prisoner killed a guard, they couldn’t automatically pick up weapons, which could easily lead to a freekill. Also, guards couldn’t take weapons meant for prisoners, so they wouldn’t ruin the gaming experience. Unfortunately, after a recent update, the feature that enabled these mechanics stopped working. Hopefully, this is just a temporary issue, and we’ll only have to go without these mechanics for a short while.
In conclusion, I want to say that the activity on this server will reflect for me and my team how much interest there is in CS2 community servers and whether it’s worth working on others, such as FunMod, AWP servers, and so on.
I hope you’ll appreciate our work on the server because we crammed four years of JailBreak mode development into just under two months – about 480 hours of work. We’d definitely appreciate any feedback.
